Ella had a better day. With the ECMO machine turned back up to 160, her stats improved. This makes sense since the machine is doing more of the work.

We learned that they wanted to turn up the machine, so that she could have a break, but also so that they can change the circuit in the ECMO machine. We are nearing two weeks of Ella being on ECMO which leads to a great risk of blood clots in the machine. So, when they reach this point, they like to change out the machine and start fresh to minimize that risk as much as possible.

The latest news is that they will likely keep Ella on ECMO until next week. We don’t expect to see any drastic changes, like getting her off of ECMO, until next week.

Please continue to pray that Ella will gain strength throughout this week. Also, that her parents will hold tight to His promises during this challenging time!

Thanks again for all the posts – – all of you have no idea how much these help us!!!

Josh and Tina,

I write to you with tears in my eyes because I do know what you are going through, however we serve a big God capable of all things including restoring Ella’s precious little body. Continue to hold on to the promises that God has given you, and your faith in God whom created Ella will see you through. I found out about Ella from a friend of mine at church on Sunday and I immediately began to pray for her and the two of you. I have a heart for babies especially those that are born premature and spend the beginning of their lives in the NICU. It is my desire to see these babies leave the hospital healthy and whole. God has shown me that part of my destiny is to pray for these strong and courageous babies and their families. I recently lost my baby boy Joshua. He was born 4 months premature, however he lived 95 days and changed so many lives during his short life here on earth. He was such a fighter and precious gift from God. Tina, I am available to talk with you, encourage you, pray with you , or anything I can do to help. I know what it’s like to spend your days and nights at the hospital and the constant emotional rollercoaster ride that you and your husband are on. I can be reached anytime by e-mail or phone. My number is 702-491-3033. Be encouraged and know that all things are possible for those who believe. I will continue to pray for Baby Ella and your family.

Blessings,
Myra Jordan

Every morning at 7:25 mass, just so you know,I have Ella in prayer and many times through out the day. God is using Ella to bring many people to prayer. I read this quote printed in Life Voice,a pro-life newsletter. “Every Miracle in Scripture always started out as a problem If you have a,problem you can’t handle ,you’re a candidate for airacle.” by John Maxwell. God loves you both so much and baby Ella.May Jesus continue to srenghen you both &nd little Ella and bless the efforts of all the doctors and nurses. Lots and love and prayer going your way.Sincerely, Gloria & Red

Hi Tina,
Your journey is amazing to read, and all three of you are even more amazing! You have been in my thoughts since we met at NAA… And we will continue to monitor and pray for you, the successes of Ella and her team of specialists.

We had an idea last night that we thought would be kind of special for Tina, Josh and Sweet Ella.
We are going to put together a book for the West family. If each of you could send me a note via email or mail to be included, we will prepare the book. The “book of love” will be 8 ½ by 11 and is for Tina and Josh to gather more strength and to read to our Sweet Ella. If you have kids, maybe they can make a picture and you can write a note, copy a poem, or whatever you feel compelled to do.

You can email me at [email protected] or send to me at 1964 Port Laurent Place – Newport Beach, CA, 92660. If you have any questions feel free to call me at 949-718-1604.

We think this will be something they can have forever as a reminder of all the love and support they have surrounding them.
Please feel free to pass this note to friends, family or friends of friends and family that are praying for the West family. We would like to get all the pieces for the book by the 20th. I will post this a few times over the next week so if folks aren’t reading daily they will catch the note.

Thanks and much love,

The Eusey family

PS even if you are friends of friends the Wests or friends of the family, feel free to send something. I know this will mean quite a bit to them.

Dear Josh and Tina,
I have been reading your blog since you were only a few months pregnant and your courage is so inspiring. Now your beautiful baby daughter is fighting for her life. I know she comes from courage and strength (and I have faith that she has those same qualities–thank God). I pray for strength, for stamina, and for courage for all of you. Ella is so beautiful and so lucky God picked you both to be her parents.

Our internet was back on yesterday tuesday, August 7 2007. I spent hours reading the amazing story of our precious grand-daughter, mommy and dad, grandpa’s and grandma’s,brothers and sisters, friends of the west’s, friends of the Eusey’s and friends of the snyders and friends of the friends etc. even though i knew the story i was in tears most of that time. Ella’s story has only just begun and we don’t know what is going to be the next chapter or what God has in store for us all.
Grandma was in tears most of this morning. I have prayed and asked God to strengthen Ella so she can have a successful surgery.
We love you all!!
It’s in God’s hands!!

Grandpa and Mom
