Ella’s stats were stable this morning and within a decent range but she continues to be very sick. We have compiled a list of specific prayer requests for Ella:

  • p02 level as high as possible (her recent one was 114)
  • pre and post ductal blood saturation levels at 100%
  • cO2 level should be around 40 (her recent one was low 30’s; this is indicative of her gas exchange levels)
  • her fluid retention has been high the past few days throughout her chest, abdomen and back
  • improved liver function and reduced jaundice
  • the content of blood in her urine is higher than normal, pray that this would reduce
  • balanced pH levels in her stomach

Please pray for her stats to improve and stabilize over the next few days before surgery. If she can improve enough, they can remove her from ECMO. As mentioned previously, the risk of severe side effects while having surgery on ECMO is incredibly high.

Taking in the reality of the situation made for a pretty rough evening last night, but God comforted us through a book by Max Lucado: A Gentle Thunder. After our post yesterday evening Tina and I read chapter 4 together and it totally spoke to us. I felt so touched that I thought I would share the chapter with you all as well. Check out the video on yesterdays post if you get a chance.

Thank you for lifting us up in prayer. We continue to praise our Lord for the work He is doing, and thank Him for blessing us so much with Ella Renae.

We will continue to pray for Ella.

For what it is worth, a very irreverent metaphor.

I was watching a football game once, with my wise father, and I was feeling blue because our team was down. My father, with a broad smile, said to me “c’mon, don’t be down! You cannot have a comeback, unless you have something to come back from, right?”

Okay, corny as it may be, I hope the sentiment comes across as it was intended. I am wildly cheering on Ella’s comeback, and confident she will have it.

Sending you three all my love ….

Eve Marie’s comments are not corny – they are so very true – that is God’s way showing us what blessings and miracles He has for us. We will pray for all those things she needs to be ready for a successfull surgery-rest well, little one. Momma and Daddy, my heart and arms reach out to each of you – prayers and hugs – Joan

You continue to move my heart in ways I didn’t think possible. You can’t imagine the love we have for you. I believe God’s will is for you to get better and that is what we are praying for. We will pray these specific requests your parents have asked and I am going today to light a candle for you at our church. Sweet Ella stay strong today.

Josh & Tina,

She’s beautiful.

Your Faith is amazing. I cannot imagine that Ella could have been born to parents stronger and more wonderful than the two of you. You are lucky to have her as she is you.

Your entire family is in my prayers.

Ella is very Beautiful . I met you when we were there with the Mitchel family. Not one day goes by that I don’t Thank God for knowing your family. It has made me love my children more and to value them. I say everyday along with my kids That Ella shall not, die but Live, and declare the works of the Lord Psalm 118:17 and Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.Our family prays for you and our Church people pray for you Walk in the blessing of God Love Laura Leatherwood

Oh you guys – I so wish I could be there just to hug you – wish I had more than words to send, but if you can feel hugged thru our notes, then let it be so. It’s hard sometimes with a God who doesn’t always give us everything we want, but Who we know is faithful to be there with everything we _need_. Your needs and Ella’s are deep right now – it’s okay to hurt in the midst of that while trusting at the same time in His character and love no matter what. We love you and you are constantly in our prayers. XOXOXO

To Josh, Tina, and sweet baby Ella,

May the LORD bless you and keep you;
May the LORD make his face shine upon you;
May He be gracious to you;
May the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.

This is my prayer for you, taken from Numbers 6:24-26.

Dear Josh & Tina, I am truly inspired by your faith. There is no doubt that God has sent you a little angel and we are all touched by her sweet little spirit. I think of her throughout the day with a prayer always in my heart. Much love to you all, Lisa

My little Sweet Ella, just can’t get through too much work without thinking about you. I don’t think a minute goes by where you aren’t in my thoughts. My heart aches for you and your Mom and Dad. Please rest well today and gather all the strength God has to give you so you can increase your stats.

Love your favorite Auntie ; )

Precious Ella, as with all those that love you, I think of you often throughout the day. You and you Mom and Dad are in my prayers and in my heart. The Lord surely knew, as He always does, what He was doing when He chose your parents for you. Rest dear Ella and gather your strength so that your stats will be where they need to be. Much love sweet one.

Dear Family, Your love and strength can be felt daily with the blog. We will continue to pray for you and of course dear sweet Ella. Remember that NO act of kindness no matter how small, is ever wasted. Your kindness of sharing your journey is no small act. I believe it will be rewarded. May our love and concern lift your spirits. Your strength and your faith is incredible… Your daughter is a miracle…every day I pray for you before I read your blog… there is strength in numbers…and your story has been shared, I’m sure, to people you aren’t even aware of that are praying for you and sweet little Ella. Continue to be strong… Ella is here with you for a reason. She has already touched more lives, and made an impression on more people than many do in a full lifetime. I am continuing to pray for improvement and for rest for you and Josh. You must be so mentally exhausted. Please take care of yourselves too!

Dear Tina & Josh: Since we talked to Joel last weekend, I have checked your blog daily. The love that pours out of this site is such an inspiration. We continue to pray for stability for Ella and strength for you; and I have asked everyone I know to pray for you. I am sure the Lord is working for you and through you. Prayer is a powerful tool.
