Today was a good day for Ella.

Josh stayed with her last night and she slept well. He feels like she is doing better. At times, she was difficult to console today. The only thing that seemed to work was cuddling her.

Kelly offered to watch Ella solo in the hospital setting today. It gave her the chance to take care of Ella on her own, but with the comfort of being able to hit a button if she needed help. This was a good transition for us.

Josh and I used the time to move some items to the other house, in preparation for this upcoming weekend. It was good to get a head start on the BIG process that is ahead of us. Once we were done, we went and grabbed some Chinese food at a favorite local restaurant. It was so nice to just be by ourselves, alone without the Bun.

We’re so thankful for Kelly.

Tomorrow will be a big day as far as figuring out the plan for Ella. We’re anxious to see what He has in store.

Colossians 2:6-7 (New Living Translation)
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Ella, I am glad and thankful that you and “Super Nanny Kelly” had a good day today and were able to give Mom and Dad a well deserved break. I worked a camp-in at the museum and my regular shift so I needed today to rest. I will check on you tomorrow. Love,Grandpa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I was SO happy that mom and dad had a mini-date-night!

Being alone with Ella was so amazing–she’s responded so well to me this whole week, but when I picked her up and she finally rested her head on my chest (for 3 hours) and was so comfortable in my arms, I was totally overwhelmed. What an angel.

I’m so touched to be a part of your lives. It’s tough seeing Ella in the hospital, struggling-wanting to just go home (though we’re not sure which home yet) and as the parents I know there’s a huge call out to God for strength and peace and wisdom and direction and discipline–it’s amazing how easy He makes it for us to ask for whatever we need.

Psalm 28:1-2
To you I call, O Lord my Rock;
Do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if you remain silent,
I will be like those who have gone down to the pit.
Hear my cry for mercy
As I call to you for help,
as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
