Overall, Ella continues with her forward progress. Her blood gases look good (cO2=50, pO2=128) and her stats have been stable.

Dr. Kays also reduced the pressures on the vent and reduced her assisted breaths per minute down to 36. Ella takes about 60 breaths per min while sleeping, so 24 of those she does on her own. As she continues to improve, they’ll be able to reduce the assisted breaths, pressures, and amount of oxygen the ventilator gives her.

Ella also had her octreotide increased from 7mL to 10mL. We pray this will bump her fluids down again like it did before, hopefully totally eliminating her output.

We were happy to find nurse Janet taking the night shift. We’ve spent the last few hours with her. It’s 10:10pm here and we’ve not had dinner yet, so going to keep the post short tonight.

God Bless

My goodness, it is late and you haven’t had dinner yet? You two need to take care of yourselves as well you know! However, you do look simply “mahvelous darlings!
Ella has quite a menagerie lined up along her bedside, but much to my dismay, no frog. Mmmmmmm.
Go Ella Go! No fluids! No Fluids!
Rest well…see you all in the morning!

We have had a late night and busy day taking Jim to 2 medical appointments. One in La Jolla and the other in Mission Bay in San Diego. Art and Genie are here from the East Coast to spend 2 weeks with us. We are grateful to have them.
Go, Gator Girl. You are looking good. So very proud of your progress. Love, Aunt Char and Jim

She is looking so great! Ella you are just beautiful. We continue to rally around you and pray that you stay on the healing path. Lord, continue to drain the fluid from Ella’s body. We thank you for the wonderful staff that Ella was placed with for care. Continue to guide and direct them.
I got this next part in an email from a friend and I though wow… Josh and Tina are right in the middle of God’s will. You both are such a witness to so many people and an inspiration to others. Keep leaning on Him! Stay strong and take care of yourselves too!!

The next time someone says they would like to find God’s perfect will for their lives and that they want to
be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!

Psalms 118:8

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

“Father God bless my Josh and Tina in whatever it is that you know
they may be needing this day!
And may their lives be full of your peace, prosperity and power as they seek to have a closer relationship with You.

Amen”

GO Ella, GO! No fluid! No Fluid! GO GOD, GO! Keep moving in miraculous ways!! Continue to hold the West family in the palm of your hand.

Love, Melissa

When things get tough, always remember…

Faith doesn’t get you around trouble, it gets you through it !!

God Bless You!

You all are moving right through this to the other side of total healing.
Keep the Faith!! Our God is an awesome God and he is a BIG GOD!!
I can’t imagine but I think it must be so hard what you both are enduring right now. All I can say is stay strong and keep believing – He is faithful!! May His will be done in all of our lives.
Each day you all just continue to be such an inspiration and you are handling this with such grace and beauty. He hears our prayers! Just keep on keeping on. I know it isn’t always easy but you are human.
Get rest and feed yourselves so you can stay strong!
Love, Melissa
