And boy her arms are tired.

Tina made it home safe and sound. Ella and I picked her up from the airport around 7:30 tonight. Great to have her back.

Ella only woke up one time last night, although she was really fussy and inconsolable this morning. We decided to let her take it easy. She took a solid few hour nap in the afternoon, and upon waking up, looked to be feeling better.

We received a call from the pediatrician with her BMP details. All looks good. Her K (potassium) is at 4.9 which is right between the desired 4 & 6 mark. Her BUN is 21. Both these numbers are encouraging because it tells us that the weight adjusted aldactizide (diuretic) is helping her maintain her fluid balance, and the potassium is the right dose to keep her number in check. With this new info, we’re hopeful that we can maintain her at a good place without using any stronger loop diuretic (Bumex).

Kelly is enjoying some time with a friend tonight and we’re all looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

I think our Little Miss Ellas was fussy because she was excited that her Mommy was coming home! You know how hard it is to sleep when you are excited!!

Can’t wait to hear about the trip!

It was definitely disconcerting when Ella got so upset first thing in the morning… it’s expected to an extent, but her fussing so much when I was putting the steroid cream around her G-tube threw me for a loop for sure! Throughout the rest of the day, she didn’t seem to react so harshly, so that was a good sign.

Boy, when Ella gets going, she really gets GOING! 😉 But what a joy she is. The smiling photos are so much fun!

Tina, even though I haven’t seen much of you (yet) it’s great to have you home. The Bun got SO excited every time I said “MAMA” (which was thousands of times) while you were gone—she knows! I know she missed you. I did too.

Josh and Tina, you guys are such an encouragement… seeing how you are as parents to Ella is truly inspiring. I try to be the same way as her nanny. I know I’ll NEVER be mommy or daddy, but the love and tenderness and affection you pour into her drives me to push her to make her better and stronger and healthier. You are my example for 100% of the work I do with/for her. If I’m doing a good job, it’s because YOU are doing a phenomenal job. And we all know how deserving she is of you two.

Love you all! See you very soon 🙂
