Ella does not look good.

When we visited late tonight, she looked puffy. Her oxygen was at the highest flow on the nose cannula at 1 liter and her saturations were low to mid 90s. Also, her breathing looked slightly labored. She had weight gain of 50 grams which is high and indicative of fluid retention.

Dr. Kays came by earlier around 5pm and her oxygen was at 800 ml – he thought that was too high for her, so he began questioning the nurse about why it was set high. He wants her to be able to maintain at 500 ml or below. If she isn’t, something is wrong and she is headed down the wrong path. Since he didn’t think she looked that great (she looks worse now), he wrote an order for an additional dose of bumex (.25 mg every 8 hours).

We’re hoping that when she receives the additional bumex at 2am, that it will do the trick. Fortunately, Dr.Kays is around this weekend and we hope to see him at some point.

Please pray for our baby girl. It’s so hard to watch her struggle to breathe. The Lord knows just what it will take and we need His wisdom.

Proverbs 2:5-7
Then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.

Ella, Keep working hard to adjust to your new medicines. I know that you are having some trouble but this should pass. I am praying that Dr.Kays and your caretakers will find the answers for you soon. I will check on you later today. Love,Grandpa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord ease her breathing. Expand the role of the diuretics so that her body receives them and works with them to give her comfort and balance. Lord Jesus, we know you have good plans for Ella, help us to persevere when things don’t appear good to us. Amen

I’m sorry her stats are going down. I’m hopeful that its due to all the chnages and the extra work she is having to do on her own. We are praying for you.

I’m so sorry to hear about her latest downturn. It has to be hard to go from such highs and lows so quickly. Know that we are lifting you all up even as we read this news and are praying for healing and comfort for the Bun and for peace and understanding for you guys. Taking you to the feet of our Father…

The boys and I continue to lift you all up in prayer. Such a tough thing to press on through – knowing that He *knows* what is best for her though and all involved as well – WE PUT OUR FAITH IN HIM…

Much love across the oceans — and BTW Tina “way to go on the whole advocation thing…..” not an easy thing to do, but necessary! I am so thankful that the medical staff has taken your information to heart and listened – at least you know that you were heard.
