It is hard to believe. Nurse Janet and her husband Jason are visiting us from Gainesville, FL. They arrived this afternoon and we hung out at our house for a little while. Then we decided to drive and meet up with Josh. They had never been to downtown Denver and it was a warm evening, perfect for outdoor entertaining.

Ella had a fun time just being outside too. She loves the change of scenery and checking out everything. She really behaved herself well. We went to the Rio Grande Mexican restaurant to enjoy some margaritas and smoke free outdoor dining. It was a great time. Tomorrow, they will head up into the mountains to enjoy the rest of their vacation.

The OT visited for the first time today. We spent the session going over history and getting ideas together for future sessions. Ella’s swallow study is scheduled for August 7th at the Children’s Hospital. Once we can make sure that she is not micro-aspirating, we can move forward again with solid foods. In the meantime, she has some other ideas for exercises that we can do without foods to build up Ella’s feeding technique.

Tonight at the restaurant, Josh was giving me a break from holding Ella so that I could eat. He started singing to Ella which he does frequently. She loves the sound of his deep voice. It is so evident because she snuggles in tight to his chest so she can hear his voice along with his heartbeat. Such a sweet picture of daddy and his girl.

Ella, You look like you had a great time showing Nurse Janet and Jason the downtown scene. I am so glad that they had a chance to come and visit you. Great news on the OT and now after your tests you can start to make some steady progress forward. Tina and Josh good to see you out with friends and the “BUN”. I will catch up with you later. Sister, I’m so glad you had the opportunity to connect with friends and get out of the house for some real life adult time. Who’d have thought that someone from Gainesville would already be in CO!!
On the Ella Fashion Scale, I must say the outfit today gets a 10. How cute she is!
Love you guys. Hugs to all three of you.

Tina, I am so glad that you got to have grown-up time; everyone needs that. I am glad, too, that Nurse Janet and her husband, Jason, got to see Ella so soon after y’all arrived. She must have been happy to see a familiar face.
It looks so nice where you went for dinner. It’s nice that they have an outdoor place to sit, too. It’s always nice to do that even if you don’t “have” to.
We are having wonderful weather. My two older boys have been gone all week and then again next week. My four grandbabies will be gone for 10 days. I am excited, but I think that will only last for a couple of days. LOL They can drive you nuts, but then you miss them when they are gone for too long. I am sure that you both will look back and wonder where all that time went.
I agree with your sister, Tina, that the scale of cuteness was a 10 (as usual), she is like a little doll; I don’t think I could put anything less than 10 outfits on her per day! LOL
Have a wonderful weekend and I am glad that you got to see friends and go out for some fun. LoriAnn and The Boys
