Today was a nice relaxing day.

Josh decided that he wanted to eat at the Original Pancake House for brunch. So we waited until the crowds died down and ate on the open patio area. Unfortunately, Ella was fussy most of the time and required holding and comforting, so eating wasn’t quite as pleasurable for me. But Dad did enjoy his corned beef hash and pancakes. He looked happy to be having brunch at one of his all time favorite restaurants.

Afterwards, we ran some errands and came back home. We just chilled and hung out in our living room with the Bun. After spaghetti with meatballs for dinner, I was craving cookies. When the sun started to set, we walked to Super Target to grab some cookies and milk. All a perfect ending for Dad on his first Father’s Day.

I think Josh was in awe most of the day that he is a daddy. The past year in many ways was like a blur. But looking at Ella and seeing her and us in our home environment, I think he was emotional realizing that his dream to have a baby girl really has come true.

I know that he loves her so much. I just can’t wait for the day when she will tell him beyond her contagious smile that she loves him too.

We just spent Father’s Day with our 30-year old and our 24-year old… looking at your post made me aware that you two have so much more appreciation for your gift than we did at that stage! Still, we’re able to realize that our children are our finest accomplishments! Pretty cool!

You guys look like you had a great weekend! I just caught up on the blog, I was four days behind! As you can imagine…we’re busy here too, but there was nothing better than a great Father’s Day, by starting it off with praise and a THANK YOU JESUS for bringing us back home! We celebrated w/ our family in Christ at City Church! There truly is nothing better than family! We’re so glad you had a great first Fathers Day! Then had a fun bbq w/ nephews, neices and kids oh my!

🙂

Dear Josh, You are THE best dad any little girl could pray for. This past year with all the stress and heartache you’ve experienced means you have definitely earned your stripes as Dad of the Year!! I see your photos with Ella and know the love you feel for her. She is a blessing for you. But don’t forget the HUGE blessing you are for her. I’m not forgetting Mom’s contibution here, but today is your day and I just want to acknowlegde the wonderful father that you are. Love, Laura M.
