I’m thinking Ella is doing a little better today. Not quite as snotty, and her cough doesn’t sound as bad.

I’m hoping a good nights rest will let Ella and me kill off our colds. Kelly is still fighting hers, but we’ll see how she is in the morning. Tina and Grandma Mary have avoided getting sick. They spent the evening at our sweet neighbors house enjoying some homemade Mexican food. Tina brought Kelly and me a couple plates over before they left us. Thanks for the dinner Estela!

Praying that those of us that aren’t sick don’t get sick, and the ones that are get better soon.

As Ella went to sleep, Tina increased her rate of food to 31ccs per hour. We’ll see how she does overnight and into tomorrow. This brings her overall volume to 744ccs, only 24ccs below her goal. However, the biggest difference is that she is on a lower calorie formula. Once she can tolerate the volume, we can work on the density of the food.

I’m fading, so I’m going to join my child and beautiful wife in sleep. G’Night…

Good mellow day with the Bun. I was happy PT went better and we did some working out, even if it wasn’t exactly standard-mat-time!! The Bun is unpredictable, as always 😉

I just keep reveling in the fact that, even though she’s fighting this cruddy cold and she’s not feeling great, she’s still so smiley and talkative. I don’t know about you, but to me it’s soo encouraging. It definitely wasn’t anything she did in the hospital! It’s great to see that corresponding with good heart rates and saturations most of the time, and fewer serious meltdowns. To me, that says progress (albeit slow…).

1 Peter 5:8-11
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

I can’t help but think of you, Josh and Tina, when I read this verse. It’s so easy to be tempted to doubt, to be frustrated, to want to kick tires and think “How are we going to make it? What are you doing God? Why us?” And God’s plans are unusual, and He puts us places we never thought we’d be, but there’s always a rainbow of new Hope in the end… and it’s hard for all of us to see “The End” now, because realistically the journey is barely beginning, but He blesses us with days where there’s a break in the cloud. Days she babbles “dadada” all day. Days she smiles, even when the camera isn’t pointing at her. Days she doesn’t freak out when we wipe her nose. They are good–very good–days.

Constantly praying for our girl to get GREAT rest tonight, and that she’ll be feeling good tomorrow after a night of increased food. I hope she tolerates it well, seeing as she’s been doing great with the 29 ml/hr as far as I can tell. And I’m praying that we can all be self controlled and alert as Christ calls us to be, because the enemy is looking for frustration and bitterness and it’s so easy to give in because it stinks seeing The Bun in so much discomfort and feeling lousy, but God will restore us all, and Ella, to be strong, firm, and steadfast. Sleep tight Mom and Dad!
