Ella had a rough morning. Thankfully, it became better by late afternoon.

She woke up earlier than normal with gas pains and diarrhea. I’m not sure how long she had a soiled diaper because she also had a mild diaper rash. We cuddled for an hour or so until the pain subsided and then she went back to sleep until 10:15am or so.

That was a blessing in disguise because Kelly had a migraine. On average, she gets a migraine once per week. Yuck, I can’t relate. I think headaches or migraines have to be one of the worst things to endure. Although I have never had a migraine, so I feel blessed.

Based on them both feeling under the weather, it was a calm day for the Bun and Kelly. They cuddled a lot in the rocking chair.

We had our first session with the occupational therapist. We have homework for this next week. She asked us to start trying to play around her mouth, kiss her mouth, take various fabrics and wipe them across her mouth and lips. Also, we are to take her binky and dip it in apple juice to get her used to the flavor and taste. So far, both of these things are very challenging with Ella. She doesn’t like things near her mouth or making her try to drink beverages from her bottle, especially when she didn’t ask for it.

We had another physical therapy session and it went well. We feel blessed to have found our PT. She understands about going slow with Ella and is taking the time to make sure that Ella gets used to her before manipulating her body to do tough things.

Please pray that Ella can continue feeling better and that Kelly’s migraine would subside.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Ella, I am sorry to hear that you and Kelly aren’t feeling to well today. I am hoping that both of you will start to get better quick. I am at work and it is getting cold and windy I think winter is not to far away. I will call your Mom and see when I can come and visit you. Catch you later. Love,Grandpa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She’s so sweet! I’m glad to see that she is in so many ways showing herself to be a typical 15 month old baby! I’ve always told Brendan that I think that is when the dreaded “free will” kicks in. We had diaper and bath meltdowns starting then as well! We love seeing her beautiful face every day. We are praying for Ella and Kelly to feel better. Love, the Richards

We are so sorry to hear that the Bun was not feeling very well but one would never know with the beautiful smile on her face. Please let Kelly know that I had migraines for ten years and have a few suggestions for her. Peace and Blessings to you and your family.

The Bun is as beautiful as ever and along with everyone else I love seeing her smile each morning. I missed a few days as I was back in NJ visiting my mother and did not have access to a computer. But I did catch up when I returned.
Kelly, what a blessing it is to have you there to help Tina and Josh with their sweet and precious girl. As I am sure you are experiencing, the West family are very special! Love and Hugs, Fran

Hey Kelly, I think you deserve a very hot bath in a very dark room. It helps with my migraines. Josh and Tina I’m glad God has provided you with what you needed when you needed it. He’s good like that.

I’m Ba-ack! Feeling much better, thank you for the mellow day and night Josh and Tina!
(Jennifer, any tips are welcome! haha)

I was glad to see Ella improve a lot over the course of the day. It was mellow, but she was not fussy or uncomfortable hardly at all as time progressed, which was helpful for me as well as beneficial for her throughout the day and during PT. It was great to just cuddle and be close to her, and good to see her entertaining herself a little–I’m glad she’s that comfortable and feeling that good! She wouldn’t do that if she weren’t!
I totally love our physical therapist! She’s a huge blessing.

Praying for and working towards the occupational therapy side, for sure. It’s been hard to get Ella to take things near her mouth, but distracting her from what we’re actually doing with toys or songs or other noises always helps 😉 It’s great to see her improving, even in these few short days that we’ve been home from the hospital and developing a routine. 🙂

my grandson was born yesterday with cdh, he is having surgery tomorrow, the thing that upsets me the most is they knew he had problem in utero and no testing was done to find out if it was cdh, however we can only move forward and we are all praying for him.
