Today was okay for Ella.

We still sense that she is not feeling 100%. We think that most of the fussy behavior is due to teething. But even besides that, it seems like she is just not feeling totally like herself.

She has been sleeping more the past day or so. Yesterday, she took a 5 hour nap. Today, she took a 4 hour nap. When I tried waking her to break up the nap yesterday, that was a mistake. Since she is not feeling the best, I went ahead and let her sleep to her heart’s content today.

Thankfully even with the long naps, she still is sleeping enough overnight. We are just trying to tweak her hours a bit, so they match our sleeping hours more…this way, all of us are happier.

Please pray for her to get relief from teething and for her overall health. Also, for me and Josh – – we need rest and endurance for our new role as parents.

Thanks for the continued prayers.

Romans 5: 1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

She is so sweet sitting in her little chair! Soon she will be able to sit in one of those little exersaucers and bounce around! We loved those over here…we just stuffed blankets into it to give that extra trunk support. We will be praying for her to feel better soon. And for sleep for you all. This is the tough part..sleep dep. Remember, they use it for torture for war criminals. 🙂 But you CAN do it! Love, Lesli

We’re with you on the whole “lack of sleep” thing…Abby and are lucky if we get 4 hours each night. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. These children are living testimonies to the fact that God still makes miracles happen. We’ll be praying for physical and spiritual rest and peace for both of you and for rest and healing for Ella.

Oh so cute! Teething is a miserable time for EVERYONE! Hang in there, it will get better when those little chompers come in!!

Sleep is good but go with your intuition. Teething can make a baby fussy here and there and maybe a day of crankiness. But if she isn’t feeling well overall – I would go with your gut. It is hard that your first baby is CDH because you have nothing to compare it to – but also good that she was the first because I can’t imagine taking care of a 2 or 3 year old and Ella right now. I love that you have a NICU nurse as a friend to bounce things off of what a blessing.

AWakening the sleeping angel was always a mistake with my kids. BOY were they unhappy when I did that!! (still are) One BIG nap is probably fine for little Ella. She is healing and growing more fervently than most 6 month olds.

You guys are amazing! She looks happy and snuggled and is so incredibly loved. What more could a little girl want!

You are doing fine. Your intuition is working and lots of moms depend on it as a way to communicate with their babies and children. However, you haven’t retired your brain either. Good job new parents. You are the best. All our love, Char and Jim

Just make sure to tell her she’ll need those teeth to eat CHOCOLATE and that will be sure to help! ; )

Hi there! I work in childcare at a gym and a lot of the moms there like Hyland Teething Tablets. They are hemeopathic. Check with the doctor on them as the child should be a certain weight before they can be taken (same as baby oragel). She is beautiful!! Love, Laura M.

Dear Ones – Teething is a test in itself for every family. Hang in there, you have parenting skills achieved in her first steps and now the ‘regular’ ones will step in. It is quite a step from hospitzliation to ‘homilization’. Rest well, each of you and sweet Ella rest and no pain. Love, hugs and prayers – Steve and Joan

Maybe she’s going through a growth spurt. My girls would refuse to eat, sleep for two days straight, then would eat constantly for the next week. It was a weird cycle that scared me the first few times until I figured out what was going on. Growing is always good.
