Ella was stable through the night, and overall is looking comfortable.

She had one moment of discomfort yesterday evening which required a dose of fentanyl, otherwise she’s doing well.

Her stats look good too (ph=7.43, cO2=52, pO2=110). Knowing that her lungs function properly when given the right environment is so encouraging.

Ella continues her good behavior this morning. She’s been alert, looking around, and resting comfortably. No changes have been made on her ventilator at this time, but her feedings should be starting again soon.

She had a significant amount of fluid from her chest yesterday (165ccs). Her output has slowed today but we’re hopeful that this is a good thing. We’re waiting on the results from her chest x-ray to know for sure.

Ella’s weight this morning came in at 7lbs 3oz, up from 6lbs 7oz on the 5th. Some of this can be attributed to all the added stuff that’s been attached to her, but you can tell she’s put on some weight. Her little chicken legs are starting to fill in a bit more =).

We’re not sure when Dr. Kays will be performing any additional procedures. Tina and I continue to hope that he wont have to do the scarring in her chest cavity, but we are fully expecting that it will need be done. I think it’s just the concept of this procedure that keeps us in this place, but the truth is, we would rather her have it done then to slide back down this slippery fluid path without a resolution.

Thanks to all for your continued support. Your love and prayers are incredible.

God Bless

Praise you, Lord, for your mercies – new each and every morning – in our own lives and in our precious Ella’s. We’re relieved that surgery held no further complications and that there have been significant improvements in fluid reduction. Love, hugs and blessings always. XOXOXO

Sweet Ella, you are such a miracle. Praise God that her lungs do function when there is no excess fluid. I was just saying that to Dawn Tucker, that Ellas lungs seem strong when there isnt a build up of fluid. We will contiune to pray that Dr. Kays does not have to scar her chest cavity. We are asking the Lord to provide a divine resolution. All trust in Him for He knows the plans He has for us.
What a priviledge to pray for this child of God.
Love
Tamara

Ella, I am happy to hear that you are feeling better. I hope your chest x-ray is a good one and that maybe you can start to make steps in a positive direction. I just talked to your Daddy and he said he and your Mom are doing fine. I am going to your house in Lonetree today and will check on you later tonight. Love, Grandpa!!!!

For the past year I have really been struggling with truly trusting God with my children… that whole sovereignty thing is just tough. I have been feeling a bit like Abraham with Isaac and the Lord asking me… DO YOU TRUST ME? No… DO YOU REALLY TRUST ME???? I imagine that even though my kids are not in the hospital, you are feeling a bit the same. Keep opening your hands and telling Him YES. His hands are the safest place for little Ella. Prayers across the oceans – A.

We continue to praise the Lord for the progress Ella has made. We pray that additional surgery will not be necessary. She is such a sweet litle girl. We are also praying for strength, encouragement and support for you– Tina & Josh. I can’t imagine the emotions you experience daily. It is so obvious that God is guiding you through this journey and He will not forsake you. Ron & Daphne
