As I write this post, we are getting ready for the work week. The Bun had a bath and is relaxing in her pj’s. Dad is mentally preparing for his daily grind and Ella has 2 physical therapy appointments, 1 occupational therapy appointment, an echocardiogram to check her heart and an appointment with Dr. Kays. Also, we are switching durable medical equipment companies this week. We’re going to try and nail down an appointment with a physical therapist and a primary care physician. Lots going on, so I am trying to mentally prepare too!

In that vein, I want to caution all of you. At some point in the near future, we will begin the weaning process. While we plan on still writing about the highlights and sharing photos of the Bun, it will not necessarily be on a daily basis. This is not an immediate change, but is likely over the coming weeks. If you haven’t already, it is a good idea to sign up for email updates, so that each time a new post arrives, you will be notified via email.

One thing that we also want to ask: is there a private message that you would like to give to Ella? One of our avid readers suggested this idea a while ago. For Ella’s first birthday, we would like to begin to gather notes and messages from each of you to create a time capsule. You can send a note/comment/letter digitally via email, or drop something handwritten in the mail. We want to gather all of these sentiments, keep them tucked away, and have her open and read them when she is a young woman.

So if you want to participate, please start thinking about what you want to say to Ella. This is another reason to sign up for email updates, as we will provide more instructions via email on how to submit and/or send your messages.

Thanks for all the support and prayers during this time. Praise God that Ella is slowly gaining weight and staying healthy! We’ll see what the check-up on Tuesday reveals!

We’re looking forward to going home…that day is only 41 days from now!

Psalm 9:1-2
I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.

I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

What a wonderful occasion “Going Home” can be. What a milestone for you and Josh. How far you have roamed from home. How great it will be to go in the front door. Your Dad will always remember the time away having his granddaughter. Oh how blessed you are to have had such a growing experience. Our love to YOU LOL Jim and Char

Thanks for the heads up on the blog weaning process – knew it was inevitable (as well as healthy and necessary), but it will take some adjustment on our part not having it daily – people have talked about getting their “Ella fix” – how true it is. The fabulous news is that you all have made the progress in getting to this point – where each day is poignant and beautiful and wonderful, but not necessarily newsworthy – both a blessing and a hardship (for her fans =)
Keep knowing that though the blog may get weaned, the prayers and the love never, ever will. Love the idea of the time capsule – we’ll start preparing. XOXOXO

She sure looks cute in her little sun dress! Very summery! I love the idea of a time capsule – it will be a wonderful way for all of you to look back on the amazing love and support from so many people…and see how far you all will have come!

What? No more coffee and a Bun in the mornings? I’m one of the addicted ones. I will be brave and adjust (I learned that from y’all), but I admit I will probably go through Ella withdrawals! It’s good to know though that you’ll be keeping us posted with email notices and I’ll certainly continue to pray. It’s been such a privilege to share in your journey in this small way. I rejoice with you that you are turning a corner in the journey and am praying God will continue to guide you, give you widsom, strength and perserverance. Blessings! Barbara

You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91: 1-2

It’s so awsome that this next big step is just around the corner. We’ll definitely miss you but we won’t ever be more than an email or a phone call away. And we’ll keep on praying.

I, too, will miss my morning Bun; at least I get to keep my daily coffee! lol I am excited that you are getting so much done and that you are on the count down to going home. While it must have been nice to experience all this new stuff in a warm and beautiful place, I am sure that their is plenty of family and friends that can hardly wait to see y’all again. May the Lord get rid of Ella’s stranger anxiety NOW, so that everyone can enjoy each other and not be stressed out. All these milestones; how awesome is He! I think it’s a wonderful idea to do the time capsule and that it will be a great thing to help Ella stay on the God-Path that you are already creating in her. God Bless and may this week go smoothly as you prepare all that you need to. Tom, LoriAnn, Tyler, Zackary, Seth and Jonny

I am with Barbara…I so enjoyed starting my day with tea and a smile from the Bun.
It will be so wonderful to have you all back home again. The trip back will be here before you know it…how exciting.
