Ella had another good day – – a sigh of relief coming from Mom and Dad. Thinking back to one week ago today, Ella has come a long way!

We spoke with the nurse practitioner late this afternoon. She mentioned that Ella’s chest x-ray looked better today. That is such good news!

Her blood gas at 2pm and at 10pm were both good, pH levels around 7.4, cO2 in the 40’s and pO2 in the 80’s. Also, since she is doing well, they increased her feedings to 5ccs per hour.

Her urine output at 8pm was on track for another good 24-hour period at 184 so far. The chest fluid output has slowed down a lot today, only 20ccs.

Since her chest x-ray looked good this morning, we are hoping that this is a sign that her overall fluid production is slowing down. Also, maybe the scarring of the chest cavity is beginning to take effect. The next few days will be very telling.

When we visited tonight, she was sleeping. I placed my hand on her head and feet. After a few minutes, she sensed my presence and opened those eyes wide! Then, she had to stay awake to hang out with her parents! It was nice to see her enjoying her time with us and just looking around.

Those are the times we drink in and enjoy. She engages us with her eyes and it is just amazing to stare back.

She has such a sweet spirit and is such a strong baby girl. We love her so much. She is truly a miracle.

We are praying for a stable weekend. Dr. Kays is out of town for a few days. Although he will be calling in to check on her, we hope that she can remain stable and continue to take small steps in a positive direction.

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

These miracles are AWESOME!!!! I love these. They show how big and powerful God is, while showing his tenderness at the same time.

What a delight for Ella to be stable and you two to be able to relish the time with her. I praise God for that. What a great God we serve.

YAHOO! What a joyful heart we have with you! We continue to lift you daily before our Father knowing that HE KNOWS IT ALL – every hair on her head… every little breath… every little *blink* and what a blessing that she is BONDING with the two of you – drinking in your love with her eyes … moment by moment…

(So what color will the colors for her welcome home party be? Pink I hope! Ohhhhh – pink and that sweet *lime green* color! ; ) Wish I could be there!)

God is GOOD! It feels like we’ve been holding our breath all week and it’s very good news that her chest looked clear still even with less fluid output. This is what we’ve been praying for! We keep praying earnestly for Ella’s healing and are so thankful that she remains comfortable and stable. We pray for the medical team that’s caring for her in Dr. Kay’s absence and that you will know the presence of the Great Physician Who never leaves her side. We’d like to think Ella has reached the summit peak and is on the descent but for right now, keep enjoying each sweet little step. We won’t stop praying!

wow… GOD IS MOVING!! Our God is an awesome God.
I was reading my devotional and the same verse that you posted – Philippians 4:6-7 popped out at me.
Another verse that came to me was Psalm 9:10 – Those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.——————–
You have posted that verse before also.
Ella looks so alert. We praise God that she is climbing back up the mountain and out of the valley. One step at a time. Sit back, relax and enjoy each moment. The battle is His and boy is He fighting!!
You all are amazing. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date so we can be on this journey with you.
Top 10 Tips – What the Bible says you can know and do concerning your children………………..

2. God always see your child.
3. God loves your child immeasurably more than you do.
4. God considers your child His own.
5. God wants the very best for your child- and He knows what is the “very best.”
6. God urges you to pray for your child.
7. God promises that when you pray, He is listening and takes your requests to heart.
8. God has provided wisdom through the Holy Spirit.
9. God reminds you that adversity builds strength and He’s able to give your child help and peace in any circumstance.

and a quote by Ruth Bell Graham
As a mother, my job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible.

That is right where you all are right now. What witnesses you are too!!
Continue to cling to His promises and keep the faith.
We rejoice and praise God for what He has done with Ella. We continue to pray for healing and comfort.
Have a great weekend. Rest easy knowing that the Great Physician is always with Ella.
Love, Melissa
