The bun has shifted over to another room in the NICU 3. The girl is not even quite 11 weeks old, and she’s already starting to take after her parents. For those of you who don’t know us that well, Tina and I have moved 14 times in 12 years. With that many moves under our belt, I believe we can now consider it a hobby. 😉
Our dear Ella has had another good day! She was on her tummy and sleeping soundly when we arrived at her bedside. Her stats look good too with oxygen saturations remaining close to 100% and a blood gas this afternoon of: pH=7.39, cO2=46, pO2=78.
One of the RT’s who had been watching the progress of her chest x-rays said that it looked even better today. Considering how little her total chest fluid output was for yesterday, that’s good news!
Ella was turned on her back during shift change this evening, and even right after the turn her face didn’t look as puffy as before. I think with all that wonderful urine output she’s been having, she’s starting to lose some of that edema (yay!).
Tina and I are enjoying our time with our baby girl this evening. We praise God for where Has us today, and we’ll continue to rest in Him, and trust in Him for Ella’s future steps.
Have a good night all.

Great news! My wife Christy and I pray for baby Ella every night as if she was our own! We have a 9 month old little girl, and my heart and love and prayers go out to you and everything that your family is going through. Thanks for praising God through all this and this blog website you’ve put up is amazing and inspirational to everyone. I know we check it probably 3 or 4 times a day!

Bless you Josh for thinking to give those who wait and pray and feel for you and your little family. She looks so very good today. We are certainly blessed and lead by God when we think of where Ella has been. She is so close to Heavenly Father. I wish you all a good night. LOve, Aunt Char and Jim

Yay Ella! Our condolences on the Gators loss tonight…we actually stayed up and watched the game and (gulp) rooted for the Gators. Don’t tell Uga.

She looks great! That was Arissa’s “room”, everyone knew when that phone rang it was Dr. Kays! I’m so glad she’s having a great couple of days, we will be praying that there are nothing but good days from here on out. I’m sure her little body is relishing this time to recoup. They always use to tell us “baby steps” and she “baby stepped” her way home. We stop by to check on Little Ella every chance we get!

We’re only barely surviving your extended absence; you can move all you want within CO, but don’t try getting past the state line without some serious opposition =)So Ella, would it conflict with your Gator loyalties to give a little Rockies cheer? We’ll ask them to hit a homer for you, princess, in honor of your incredible winning streak. Kiss your mom and dad for us and rest in boundless love. XOXOXO

Tough loss for the Gators, but great gains for Ella! Being from Colorado, and I’m sure she is excited to get back here, Ella will be happy to know the Rockies swept it for her. We can’t wait to see you all back here! We’ve got a cold front that just came in (a little chilly at the Race for the Cure this morning!) but a beautiful Colorado day! We miss you in this neck of the woods!
